Conservation and Sustainable Use of the Ocean - Supportive Technologies and Future Trends
In 2018, the World Maritime University (WMU) celebrates 35 years of excellence in education, research and capacity building. Its parent organization, the International Maritime Organization (IMO), celebrates its 70th anniversary.
Following the inauguration of the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute, the University now marks this special year with the OceansTrends 2018 Seminar on 29 and 30 August 2018, organised in cooperation with the University of Nantes.
The two-day seminar will include presentations and discussions on Marine Spatial Planning & Blue Growth, Safety Aspects of Exploitation Activities, and issues surrounding Shipping in the Era of Digitalisation including a session on Autonomous Vessels.
The seminar is open to professionals and students working in the field of sustainable ocean management, marine spatial planning and maritime technologies. Simultaneous interpretation into French and English will be available.
