In the webinar series on ESD and Digitalisation, presenters give a short introduction on their perspective. At this event, Jukka will give an overview of how much energy and electricity do all our electric devices consume.
Baltic University Programme (BUP) is organizing a webinar series called "ESD & DIGITALISATION - Implications of Digital Technology for Education Policy and Practice". The main target group for the webinar series is teachers in higher education, especially within the BUP, however the webinars are open for everyone interested.

Title: The Negative Impact of ICT in Respect of Energy and Resource Demand
Description: How much energy and electricity do all our electric devices consume? Computers, smart phones, tablets etc. In the general marketing, these devices are said to spare other forms of energy demand, nothing is said how much energry they consume by themselves. E.g. 70 per cent of the resources and energy on the Internet go to video watching, mostly for amusement. The same numbers for the mobile net is 80 per cent.
