The Baltic University Programme Mobility Grant Award 2019

Dr. Mariia Ruda, Department of Environmental Safety and Environmental Protection (ESEP), at the V. Chornovil Institute for Sustainable Development, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ukraine, is the winner of the BUP Mobility Research Grant 2019.
In order to develop her research, she wants to visit the International Sakharov Environmental University (ISEU) in Belarus, in the spring of 2020. Ruda’s project aims to study the ecological state of complex landscape systems of watersheds in the Baltic Sea region, focusing on Ukraine and Belarus. Within the framework of the project, the idea is to identify relevant sustainable development indicators based on the studies of complex landscape systems in the two countries. The work will be of an interdisciplinary nature, as experts on environmental protection technologies, sociologists, economists and Sustainable Development Goals experts are involved in its implementation.

The IUSDRP are currently planning the "2nd Workshop on the Environmental Impact and Economic Sustainability of Nord Stream 2 and Other Sub-Marine Natural Gas Pipelines". The event will be held in, Lviv, Ukraine, on 13th-14th May 2020. It is organised by the Ukraine National Forestry University and the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme.
