Ecosystems without borders - international conference

Kaliningrad State Technical University invites colleagues to take part in the second international conference "Ecosystems Without Borders - 2021". The conference is designed to establish interaction and expand cooperation between researchers and to exchange scientific and technical achievements. For BUP colleagues we have a special offer.

The conference aims to intensify dialogue and facilitate implementation of new initiatives and projects in the field of science, education and economics and to initiate emergence of new alliances for future cooperation. 

The conference includes the following sections: 

  • Digital ecosystems : society – ecology – economics
  • Green energetics
  • Innovation in Food and Marine Biotechnology

Following the results of the International Scientific Conference: “Ecosystems without borders - 2021”, a collection of materials will be published by the leading high-ranking European publishing house.

The conference will take place in Kaliningrad, Russia, 4 - 9 October 2021.

Deadlines
27 September 2021 — registration for the conference
30 October 2021 — submission of papers in English.

In order to participate in the conference, you must fill in an application form on the conference website.

BUP colleagues special offer
Colleagues from the BUP Participating Universities have the chance to apply for a grant that covers the conference fee. The grant also covers the cost of publishing in the appointed journal. In order to be eligible for the BUP grant, submit your registration on the conference website under the heading Registration/BUP Participating Universities.

Call for applications for IFZO-Research Fellowship

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Baltic Sea Region Research (IFZO) has opened the call to award four research fellowships. They are looking for scholars at doctorial and postdoctoral level who are looking to support research abour transformations in the Baltic Sea region and would benefit from a period of residence in Griefswald.

The application deadline is the 15 November 2021. The IFZO invites applicants from scholars who are willing to contribute to this programme as well as engage in an interdisciplinary manner with researchers from the wider Baltic Sea region. The IFZO accomodates seven research themes:

  • Cultural Heritage
  • Energy
  • Security and International Relations
  • Regional Development and Rural Areas
  • New Nationalism 
  • Sustainability
  • Regional Land Use Dynamics

Applications are welcomes from those scholars who work on case studies with a strong connection to the Baltic Sea region or which follow a strong conceptual appraoch that can benefit the centre. There are a number of benefits to becoming an IFZO-Fellow which include time to research, access to an extensive network and a close research environment.
